New $25,000 GPS in our Cessna 172 Trainer!

Yes, you read that right!
We recently installed a brand new $25,000 Avidyne IFD550 WAAS GPS/Nav/Com unit in our Cessna 172 Flight School Trainer!
The IFD550 is Avidynes top of the line GPS and is widely renowned for having the best Flight Management System (FMS) and safety features of any GPS navigator on the market.
We know this upgrade will greatly benefit not only instrument training students but also primary students. As well as having a standard moving map display, this unit has more safety technology in it than any competitor out there- it gives a 3 dimensional view of the surrounding terrain, so even when flying at night or in challenging conditions you are able to know exactly where you are in respect to the terrain- and if you get too close it will give you aural alerts! It is such great technology that I personally don't ever want to fly without it, so our students should experience that benefit also! We look forward to seeing how our students enjoy flying with such great avionics
